Gauge-the thickness measurement of vinyl. The higher the gauge, the thicker the material. A gauge reading of vinyl can be pre -or post-embossed. Pre-embossed refers to the gauge of vinyl in its "virgin" state, before a raised design or pattern is applied. Post-embossed refers to the vinyl thickness after the application of a raised design or pattern.
Vinyl Curtains Care Instructions: proper care goes a long way in extending the life of a shower curtain. A timely schedule of housekeeping procedures for rinsing and washing will help eliminate the possibility of mildew growth on any residue such as soap, shampoo, etc. left on the curtain.
- Sponge with warm, mild soap solution and clear water rinse. (This is the most effective method of all.) If machine washing is essential, follow these instructions.
- Use relatively cool water temperature, not more than 120°F.
- Use mild soap solution, not a detergent.
- Air dry at low temperature.
